Privacy Policy

Overview

Gestura.app is designed to keep core interaction local by default while still allowing you to connect cloud providers, MCP tools, and other services when you choose. This Privacy Policy explains the main data paths users should understand.

Information We Collect

Voice Data

Voice commands are processed locally on your device by default. If you explicitly configure a cloud speech provider, the audio or transcription needed for that request may be sent to that provider under its own service terms.

Session Context, Knowledge & Memory

Gestura may store conversation history, retrieved knowledge items, and durable memory locally so workflows can remain coherent over time. If you route a request through an external model provider, relevant prompt context for that request may include part of the active session or matched knowledge needed to answer well.

Usage Analytics

We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the platform, including feature usage patterns and performance metrics. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.

Data Security

We use standard security practices to reduce unnecessary exposure of sensitive data. Remote provider traffic should use encrypted transport, and local-first processing remains the preferred path whenever it meets your needs.

Third-Party Services

If you choose to integrate with third-party services such as cloud speech providers, model providers, or external MCP-connected systems, those services may receive data necessary for the work you ask them to perform. Their privacy policies and retention practices apply to the data they receive.

Your Control Choices

You control important privacy boundaries through provider settings, permission levels, MCP connections, and knowledge configuration. The safest baseline is local voice processing, restrictive permissions, and only the external integrations you actively trust.

Source Availability

As a source-available project, you can review our code and data handling practices on GitHub. We believe in transparency and welcome community audits of our privacy practices.
